AC Joint Surgery

The acromioclavicular (AC) joint connects the collarbone to the shoulder blade. Arthritis or irritation in this joint can cause pain during lifting, reaching, pressing, or overhead movement.

Why It Happens

AC joint pain may develop from repetitive overhead activity, weightlifting, or simple wear and tear.

How the Procedure Works

If nonsurgical treatments do not relieve symptoms, arthroscopic distal clavicle resection removes a small portion of the collarbone to reduce friction and inflammation.

Recovery Expectations

Patients typically experience meaningful pain relief with gradual return to lifting and overhead activities.

The Goal

To restore comfortable, dependable shoulder motion.
