SLAP Repair
A SLAP tear affects the upper portion of the shoulder labrum where the biceps tendon attaches. These injuries often cause deep shoulder pain, clicking, or discomfort with overhead movement.
Why It Happens
SLAP tears are common in overhead athletes but may also result from a fall or traction injury.
How the Procedure Works
If nonsurgical care does not improve symptoms, arthroscopic SLAP repair is performed to reattach the torn labrum and restore stability.
Recovery Expectations
Rehabilitation focuses on restoring motion first, then progressive strengthening and controlled return to overhead activity.
The Goal
To relieve pain, restore stability, and support dependable shoulder movement.
